The CUNA HR/TD Council Nominating Committee, chaired by Kent Streuling, Vice President – Human Resources, America First FCU, Riverdale, Utah is pleased to announce the candidates for the 2008 election.

The three candidates receiving the highest number of votes will take their seats on the Executive Committee at the conclusion of the annual conference at the Renaissance Waterfront Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts, April 20 – 23, 2008

Over the last 3-years I had the pleasure of serving on the HR/TD Council Executive Committee. My own credit union experience began 6-years ago when I joined Redwood Credit Union as Training Manager. Since that time my roles have increased, as I became the AVP of HR and Training. In my new role of managing HR, the HR/TD Council is a valuable resource. It is my hope that I can continue to work with the Executive Committee to grow this resource for other HR and Training Professionals. I look forward to working with others to enrich the HR/TD Council experience.

Jeffrey Duke, M.A., SPHR, Leadership Development Consultant, BECU, Seattle, Washington, $7.6 Billion, 520,000 members, 862 FTE.

Since I've been with BECU I've attended the HR/TD Summit, joined the Conference Committee and this April I'll be presenting a session at the Summit on employee engagement. I'm passionate about learning. People should be discovering, growing, and trying new things. That is what the HR/TD Council is about. I look forward to seeing you at the conference and interacting with those of you who volunteer on the HR/TD committees: communications, conference, education, membership, and training. Together we become leaders and decision makers in our organizations.

Joanne Boozer, Executive Vice President Operations, Compliance and Human Resources, Ascentra Credit Union, Bettendorf, IA, $ 146 Million, 19,000 members, 76 FTE.

I have 40 years experience in the financial services sector. I am responsible for all office operations, human resources and compliance. I have held many different positions throughout my career dealing with all aspects of the operation. My work experience and job diversity have given me the chance to learn about every aspect of the operation and has provided me with a chance to grow professionally. The networking opportunity provided by the council is great and I would like to be a part of the Executive Committee, bringing new ideas to the table in order to keep the organization moving forward.

Robert L. Davis, SVP of HR, VyStar Credit Union, Jacksonville, Florida, $3.3 Billion, 347,000 members, 1032 FTE.

I'm Bob Davis, with VyStar Credit Union as the SVP of Human Resources. I have been in the Human Resources field for 33 years in various leadership positions. I spent 27 years in the Insurance Industry, ran my own HR consulting business for 3 years and taught HR classes locally at Phoenix University. I am new to the credit union world but am very interested in learning, growing and adding value to the HR area of the credit union movement.

Michelle Greear, Manager-Corporate Training, Technology Credit Union, San Jose, California, $1.3 Billion, 78,000 members, 240 FTE.

In my current role I manage all aspects of corporate training, including instructional design, content development, web based and classroom instruction. I have 26 years working in the financial services industry. I'm an active member of our local League Chapter and I am a graduate of Western CUNA Management School. As a nominee for the HR/TD council I aspire to work not only with the Executive Committee, but also Credit Union Professionals from all over the country to bring learning, growth and educational opportunities to the membership. I hope to meet new people, develop friendships and to have some fun along the way!
