Don't get into the HR racket—go for honest work.

Greatest benefit of Council membership

I've met some very bright and dedicated people. Also a few who suffer from terminal professionalism.

Best part of my job

The opportunity to make people laugh at the absurdity of life instead of taking drugs.

Hardest part of my job

Dealing with bureaucrats.

Biggest misconception about my job

That we are here to make it "all better" for an employee who is acting like a jerk.

Hunting, gardening, woodwork, amateur radio.

We Have Met the Enemy and He Is Us by Walt Kelly.

Life goal not yet achieved

Spend a winter at the South Pole.

If I had an extra hour in the day . . .

The government would just figure out a way to tax it.

Favorite quote

“I beseech you, in the bowels of Christ, think it possible you may be mistaken” (Oliver Cromwell).

If I could spend a day with anybody it would be . . .

My great-grandfather. He died long before I was born but was a man who lived a fascinating life.
